Spring Blooms Explode in the Garden

Picture
I can't seem to get enough of my garden these days.  It is exquisite right now as the rains of April give way to the sunshine of May.  The word luscious describes the colors and that permeate the yard.  Careful planning and imagination went into this as I dug in the cold nearly frozen dirt back in October and November to allow for this voluptuous display in May.

Imagination is critical to a great garden.  Bulbs for spring must be planted in autumn, but I really start my dreaming in the dead of winter when the garden canvas is white and clean with stark skeletal lines of leftover plants and dried up debris.  In the garden world this is called winter interest.  I think it is fallow ground for designing and imaging the future.

The garden inspires my art making.  Over many cups of hot tea, sugar and cream I create drawings, paintings and photographs that are garden-themed.  Occasionally, my cup of tea makes it into my imagery too.  I never tire of the colors, forms and relationships of plants in the garden.

If you love garden-themed imagery you may enjoy my artwork.  Check the gallery link for examples.  I will also do commissioned work.  Come join me up the garden path.
